Hey Shorty

Here's another attempt to colorblock.
I got lost again in my messy closet, hence, what I wore here from the top to jeans are my mom's. :) I love the fact that whenever I fall short of clothes, I always have other closets to run to -- like my mom's and even my brother's. Even my grandma's. HAHA. My boyfriend is lucky that he doesn't live anywhere near because his closet might be the next victim. :P
Please don't hate me for wearing the same shoes. I just want to cherish the last days of its existence because I'm betting that it will breakdown anytime. :( Please, please, not until I find another one like it. :(
Thank you Manang Gina for being my last-minute photographer!

As a child, I often received compliments for being a long-legged girl. I used to think that I will grow really tall but then my growth halted at 5ft 3in. when I reached college. Quite average, but sometimes I wonder why I look so short in photos. :/ Maybe because of the angle or something? I've met some bloggers in person and most of them were just my height or even shorter but why do I look so short? Hehe. Help, I need enlightenment. :/

I just finished packing and I'm all set to leave my hometown again tomorrow. :(
Nevertheless, this isn't goodbye yet for us. I still have a few backlog posts before I finally go on a leave of absence. I will be holding giveaways, from time to time, so just keep visiting! :D

Call It Spring

Florals will never go out of style. They can do wonders and transform any outfit into something girly.
I tried to divert from my usual colorful mix this Sunday. I resisted the urge of snatching that pastel yellow top from my closet and opted for something more minimalist and classy -- a black turtleneck and accessories with peach accents to match my shoes. I didn't want to look too made up for church so as to not steal that much attention, hence, I just curled my hair early this afternoon when we went out for snacks. :)

Whew, time flies.
I am barely two days away from Day One of my sophomore year. o.O
Looking back at my summer vacay, with all the ups and downs and those plans that never took place, I am still very happy and grateful for all the opportunities that God showered me. I met the most number of people and made the most number of friends from different parts of the country in just two months. :) Thank You, Lord! And thank you everyone! This truly is a summer to remember. :D

How was your summer vacay?
Good vibes for S.Y. 2012-2013 to all the students!

P.S. I regret frowning at most of the photos. :/ If only we can re-shoot. Hehe

Cold War

Weather-appropriate fashion is getting a bit tricky these days. Rainfall becomes more and more unpredictable. We wake up to bright and sunny mornings but spend our middays under dark skies.
I didn't bring a jacket with me to Manila because I had to at least budget my luggage space. I had to fit in clothing, toiletries, shoes, and random stuff (like accessories, but to the most extreme minimum) for ten days into a small trolley, this black tote, and a shoulder bag. Hence, I disregarded denims and heavy fabrics --like jackets. I opted for leggings, cardigans and one-piece clothing such as this fur dress. It may look heavy but it's super thin and light. :) I bought this months ago just so I can add a little something to my travel wardrobe. Hihi. I always look forward to a trip abroad because it gives me a sense of liberty when it comes to fashion -- no one knows me, so why get bothered about what other people might say? ;)
Because I couldn't anymore wait to wear this dress, I took the risk of wearing it in sunny MNL. I was very thankful that the weather (again!) cooperated with my outfit on the day of our flight back home. Yayyy! Aside from the dress, I am also truly, deeply, and madly in love with these yellow brogues! I intentionally planned to make them stand out by wearing less colors and more neutrals.

Hehe. Okay, so I normally type the outfit description after the photos but because I gained a bit of weight, and I look fat here, let this serve as a disclaimer. HAHA. Please bear with my not-so-flat tumtum. I promise(?) to be more keen with my diet and exercise as often as I can. :P

How do you travel-light?
Let's swap tips. I'd love to hear from you!

High or Low

The blogosphere is currently flooded by mullets/fishtails/asymmetric skirts which are mostly sheer or made of chiffon fabric. Why the craze? Mullets are ultimately perfect day-to-night ensembles. Given the appropriate top and shoes, one can be a beach chic, an elegant party girl, or even go on a casual lunch date with friends. :)

As for me, I deviated a bit from the usual sheer and went all the way with prints and multi-colors. This one-piece dress spared me time from my usual dilemma of which top to pair my mullet with or which accessories to wear since its already printed. I also loved how the light fabric moved easily with the wind!

I wore this to church three Sundays ago. Since it really looked like a maxi dress from the back, I got unsurprisingly surprised glances when I turned around. Mini skirts aren't allowed at church but asking my mom's opinion (plus all the other persons at home), they said the dress was still modest enough to wear. Sunday is the regular day of worship for us Catholics. For most, especially the busy bees, it's their only day of worship. So if you dress so fab when you go to a friend's party, what more when you visit God's house?

What is Sunday's Best for you? :)

BU3: The Meet and Greet

Last Saturday (June 2), I attended the Bloggers United 3 at Grandview Events Place, Makati.
It's that once in a blue moon affair where almost all top bloggers in the metro gather to meet and greet their readers. Ever since I started blogging, I've yearned to be part of events such as this. This blog might not have existed if not for these fierce Chictopians who inspired me to step out and be seen. :D
I was in Manila too during the Philippine Fashion Week but I had MORE important things to take care of like SADE, yayyy! There's always next time, anyway. :)

Here are the photos during the event! I was a total fangirl for a day! If you'll scan through the photos below, most of them carry this formula: blogger + me. HAHA. I could have taken solo shots instead, but I wasn't able to think of those externals due to overflowing excitement. Thank you, brother, for being my cameraman! :D

The registration table. Thank you Alexa and Anagon for including us on the guestlist! We didn't have to fall in line :D
My OMG-this-is-really-it face. HAHA

The very creative Bjorn Bedayo. I learned to love this guy because of the Enciso sisters. :)
Lissa Kahayon. I've been a fan even before she started blogging! I love her beauty, very Filipina! I can still remember myself shrieking when she was interviewed for a feature of Liz Uy on TV. I was like, OMG OMG, that's the morena girl in Chictopia, she's Liz's intern!!!
Okay, I look crappy here but who cares, HAHA. David Guison - my ex-crush. Weird how I didn't feel any kilig anymore. :|

As any other good bazaar experience, a lot of great finds in exchange for a lot of money, HAHA. Oh well. I figured since I accomplished a lot this summer, I might as well give myself a treat. Ah, but alas... my savings wallet is now quite empty. :|

Nevertheless, the experience was priceless. I realized that I could be whatever I want to be just as long as I put my heart and act on it. With these photos, I also realized how much weight I gained with just 10 days in Manila. Woooshhh. And yey, I got mistaken by buyers as a metro blogger for more than a couple of times. Kilig! <3

Hurray for BU and bazaars! Now, it's time to save up for more blogger events and shopping expeditions!

Much <3,
Mela
