Comic Relief

How to get countless double takes from strangers?
Wear a Batman tunic dress and yellow goggle-like sunnies.
This whole outfit was so much of a scene stealer even if, deep inside, I really felt like just wearing my childhood pajamas with comics/cartoon character prints on them. I love how OMG Fashion produces unique and quirky dresses like this that make girls relive their fond childhood memories.

Of course, the yellow sunnies from Foymall weren't made for nothing. They smell and feel like Lego and I couldn't get enough of them that you might just see yellow instead of my real eyes in my next few outfit posts.

So here goes my own version of a 'playsuit'--literally. ;)

Back On Track

I daydream a lot. And oftentimes, I don't get schoolwork done promptly because I spend 70% of the time thinking of what if's and what could be's. Tonight, I will make one of my daydreams happen by posting outfit photos with a hopeless hope that my motivation to study will be restored--that I will finish what's ought to be done--so that I can finally have some guiltless, well-deserved weekend sleep.

What have you been daydreaming about lately?

Hats Off

(necklace: Bubbles, bangles: SM Kids Accessories)
My photos scream girly because of this girl. Meet April! :D
And her friend, Myla, who added more yellowness to my already bright and yellow day!
(hat: SM Accessories)

photos by April Rose Garcia

My head was aching to wear this hat with salmon pink trousers and wedges last weekend but then I found out at the last minute that my top had a low, low neckline. I had no choice but to wear a bandeau underneath. The only kind in my closet was in yellow green. :| I knew then and there that it would ruin the daintiness of the entire outfit hence, I decided to just give yellow green some moral support with colorful accessories. Since I couldn't give the hat up, I used a bag with the same hue and switched to black flats to minimize the chaos.

TIP: When confused with mixing and matching colors, just make sure that at least two pieces in your outfit have the same hue. Mostly, similar-colored shoes&bag or shoes&top make safe combinations - the rest of the pieces you can just play along with. :)

How do you guys plan to spend the long weekend?
In contrast to my bright outfit, my week was a rather gloomy one. With all the stress and tears that it caused me, there's no better remedy than some salon-pampering and quality family time. :)
I'm also posting a blog giveaway next, yayyy! Watch out for it, yah?

Happy long weekend, everyone!

Much love,

Good Vibes.

Woke up today with a sweet, sweet surprise from CHICTOPIA. I've been dormant for quite some time and it was only last month since I decided to revive it. Gladly, my fellow chictopians gave me a super warm welcome with chic votes and overwhelming comments on my first blog comeback. With a few friends and an unpopular persona, 60+ votes was bigtime for me. Plus, I received comments from top fashion blogger MANDI GARCIA and celebrity stylist AISA IPAC that really got me so kilig!

Anyway, here are some photos from my resuscitated chicblog. :)))

I made this my profile pic in FACEBOOK and got overwhelming likes, too.  Again,  THANK YOU. :)))

I wanted to look candid and achieve a fun, awkward look, hence the jumpshot attempts.

I believe these next photos aren't as flattering as the first. If Andre Leon Talley was here, he would have called these a 'dreck'. These photoshoot made me realize that I had to work my body out (notice the flab on my belly). I was holding my breath the entire time but really, it was difficult to hide the obvious. HAHA.

This next set is probably the first of my 'real' chicblog posts. I quoted REAL because all of my posts since Day One at Chictopia weren't really Chictopia-ish. Most were unplanned and had that it-just-happened-that-I-was-wearing-nice-clothes-today-and-we-had-a-family-affair-that-involved-the-use-of-cameras feel. These were taken at NAIA while waiting for our flight to Macau last year.

This blazer's one of my favorite pieces. Aside from being yellow, it's also reversible. The reversed  version I used on the photos above.

I'm a big fan of designer clothes but because of the impoverished, difficult life here in the Philippines, I mostly have local brands. HAHA. I kid on that, partly. The designer items I have are handed down by my grandma, and my grandma's sister (who will be coming home from US this April, wah, can't wait!), gifted by relatives abroad, or bought from eBay (at cheaper prices!) and local thrift shops.

I have loads of activities today. Hence, my outfit post today will come tomorrow. Till next time!
