Ola! Sorry, but I'll be shamelessly plugging something again for this month. Hihi.
I've been chosen as one of the three candidates for Fleet Collection's Found By Fleet Campaign for February.

If you could lend me a few seconds of your time, please visit this link and like my entry:

Simple, yes? You can also like Fleet Collection's page. They're worth a subscription. The dresses are really dainty. :) Aaand, don't worry! I'm not leaving you empty-handed. By reading this post, you'll automatically get a 15% discount coupon for an entire order from Fleet Collection.

There, I shan't keep you any longer. Thanks in advance, guys! It's always awkward getting into Facebook liking contests but your help will be very much appreciated. Thanks to April Garcia, too--for taking this photo. Guess what, she's opening her own studio on the 8th! It's called Studio 23 Photography. Congratulations, dear! You can click this link for a full scoop of my outfit above: http://www.wearismela.com/2012/09/conspiracy-theory.html

See you around!

Much love,

Conspiracy Theory

I have a default prayer every Saturday afternoon: "Oh Lord, good weather please?"
It's the only time of the week when I can dress up and go out as if I'm fun-loving like everyone else who don't have exams every Monday. That didn't happen last week. Well, almost. It was raining so hard I thought another typhoon's going to hit the city again. See, Iloilo is just flood-prone like that. A bit of rain can  overwhelm the drainage and make everything overflow to the streets.

I almost wanted to give my plan up because aside from damaging my shoes, it's unsafe and impractical to get myself wet and bother April at the studio. See, there are times when despite how badly we want to do something, the whole world seems to put some tall brick wall to separate us from our desires. It could be heavy rains or floods or schoolwork or your job or discouraging remarks from the people around. In my case, it's being away from home (not having my own DSLR or my brother photographer handy, the need to commute, etc.) and being in medical school per se. I know I shouldn't blame medical school because I chose this path but it just gets more and more demanding every week that most of the time, the need to set aside non-academic stuff arises.

But but, no matter how cliche the saying is, I just believe that "If you really want something, the whole world conspires in helping you achieve it". I still believe in my power to make things happen with the grace of Someone up there of course, to allow them to happen. To make the story short, the rain stopped at 4pm and despite the flood, I was able to walk on dry ground and meet up with April who was very nice to lend me a few minutes. Happy ending, ay? :)
What's so special about these bracelets? These trinkets are handmade and stuffed with herbs that are believed to bring safety and attract people and good luck by Aetas from Sitio Kati-Kati, Guimaras. Whatever your beliefs are, purchasing these can transform the lives of our brothers and sisters from this indigenous community.

I HAVE A LOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR!
It's Medicine Week (rest, rest, rest, yayyy!)
Two collaborations are coming up (whoa!)
This is redundant but I'm finally a Candymag.com It Girl On The Web! It took me 5 years to bring this dream to life. I used to download all the photos of It Girls and play the slideshow as my screensaver. Those It Girls are actually the top tier fashion bloggers now. That's how I knew all of them (became Facebook friends with them) before they even had their own sites! HAHA. I'm such a stalker. Anyway, click this link to view the feature: http://www.candymag.com/fashion/style-files/style-files-lia-carmela-delfin/

What's keeping you from chasing after that dream?
Dream the impossible dream because really, nothing is impossible!

Much love,
Mela

Something Linear

Hello everyone! I'm back from the week-long hiatus with tons of backlog posts. :D
The past two weeks has been a whirlwind of events and I'm very thankful that I emerged victorious and although it may sound a bit sappy but yeah, I am a better and a happier person right now. God is continually making wonders in my life. I couldn't believe how I managed to facilitate three Sons and Daughters Encounter (SADE) Weekends and two Team Members Training (also for SADE), in both Manila and Roxas, this summer. :)

My summer bucketlist is almost empty, yayyy! And there's no better way to reward myself than Bloggers United 3! The event was packed with fashion forward personas, fashion fangirls, and even celebs. Since this is a free country, I decided to be a fashion-forward fangirl :3 HAHA.
Here's what I wore:
I initially planned to wear a mullet skirt and a tassled top, both bright and glittery, but ended up wrapped with stripes. I loved how these multi-colored diagonals worked well to create a unified look. Beige to bronze accessories purposely blended in with my outfit. To accentuate my waist and to break the linear monotony, I wore a thick, red belt with matching red shoes.
The weather also did its trick to cooperate.:)  It was drizzling all day, hence, I didn't get sweaty being so covered!

After taking these outfit posts, Paul from Philippine Street Fashion approached me to ask if he could take my photo. OMG OMG OMGGGGG. He took a couple of shots, asked for my name and gave me his card! The photos will be featured on their website soon :)
Bjorn Bedayo ---the cutest male blogger I know-- also found my outfit cute. HAHA kilig kilig!
Enough of these for now, I don't want to spoil my next posts. Photos from the actual BU event with our favorite metro bloggers up next! :D

Much <3,
Mela

P.S. The winner of my DreamBig Shop Giveaway will be drawn tonight. Thank you and good luck to all who participated. :)

Sweat Like A Teenager

Summer break is finally here!
And that means guiltless indulgence (outfit-posting and  fan-girling and healthy eating and catching up with readings all-day, everyday) for me.
Happiness. :D

After a hibernation that seemed endless, I'm bringing this blog back into the open again. Yayyy!
WWW will be turning ONE on Sunday, April First!
I'm thinking of giving my post the title 'Second on April First' since I named my  first blog post <----  First on April First.
That's cheeseballs but yah, I have a few more days to think.
As if that's really important. Anyway.

I went out to sell 'stuff' and meet with SADE friends last Friday, and here's what I wore. :)

The kind of 'stuff' that I sell. HAHA
These ones too. :)
 Bag borrowed from Mom.
 Kara Shoes - Philippines.
I still feel a bit shy walking around in heels/platforms on an ordinary day so I brought flat shoes with me.
Cropped velvet topped from my grandma, tucked it in. :)

And no, no, I'm sorry, there's no photo of me with wet underarms here. :D
It's just that Ottoman has been on repeat in my playlist since last week.
I love how Vampire Weekend reminds me of indie music and Neon Indian.
I love every bit of this song.
And I love the people in the photos below this song + Jel.
Hottie, where were you after the exam?

Last day of school!!!

(Photos grabbed from Melissa)

I'll surely miss goofing around with these guys. :/
Groupings may change, but family will ALWAYS be family.

Much <3,
Mela
