Sundate (feat. Sammy Dress Heels)

My ideal Sunday looks like this:
Going to Mass with my family then having lunch at Grandma's while I play with my favorite nephew, Basty. The fact that my granny will stay in the US for quite long and that I could barely go home on weekends now, with Sunday meals comprising mainly fastfood eaten in a very fast manner just so I can resume studying again, somehow makes me sad. Third year med school is slowly causing me to deviate from my usual norms of comfortable living; but then, this really is what taking the road less traveled entails.

Last week, I met up with my friend, Churchille, who just arrived from Singapore.
I haven't seen her for ages and it's such a shame how I was only able to spare her 20 minutes of my study time before I rushed to church for Mass. I am such a cool and loving friend. Yes. :|
Promise, I'll make it up to you soon Chillypink!

Anyway, here's what I wore on that day:

hairtie from Aupie.com | spiked denim vest from Rackeight

I was in the mood for a sweet, girly number so I utilized lace and nude colors as the basic elements. The punk nature of this spiked, denim vest from Rackeight could be so deceiving that one might pair it with graphic leggings or ripped jeans by default. So I decided to match it with soft, earthy pieces like this lace skirt from Sheinside (that I also wore in this post), a tan handbag, and these nude pumps from Sammydress. They're my favorite pair so far and I love the fact that they're just of medium-height. That's style and comfort rolled into one. :)

I polished the look with a velvet hairtie from Aupie.com and this cutesy rabbit cocktail ring from Chemjoy.
Sporting something that's not as colorful as what I usually wear is such a breath of fresh air.
Hope you liked it too!

Head over these websites. I'm sure you'll find lots of nice stuff!

No Place Like Home

Hello, dearies!
Let me take a break from the Office Girl Series on the first day of this very special month. I can't believe that it's barely two months before summer--so many things to accomplish, so little time! I wish I can still cope with all my school (and blog) requirements piling up.

I almost forgot that I have this post on my blog drafts. These photos were taken just at the beginning of the semestral break last October. I must have been so preoccupied with sponsored posts and collabs that I took this one for granted. I love who and what I am right now and I am forever thankful for all the support that you guys have been giving; but sometimes missing what I used to be couldn't be helped. Leaves and trees at the background, recycled clothes for outfit posts, borrowed stuff from Mom, and just me, my passion, and my brother at the back of the camera. That simple--no pressure, no one to impress.

At home, there is no Mela--just the Ate Camille who leaves the bed almost always at lunchtime, who eats like a jaded laborer and spends hours at the bathroom. Yes, they all love me like that (although I'm really working hard to be less of a burden, swear to God). I will never ever trade that carefree feeling of being at home with my family. :)

What do you think of my "modified" header and sidebar?
Gahhh, I seriously need help.
Anyway, happy Month of Hearts everyone!

Much love,
Mela

Rip It!

Hello, everyone!
This is just a quick post before I finally devote my time to studying. One of my 2013 Blog Resolutions is to re-vamp my style. All these years, I have been so much fond of colors. But despite the youthfulness and energy that they exude, the thrill of wearing them is slowly waning. I don't ever want that to happen because colorful is ME. So to make myself miss colors a little, I will temporarily shift to basics--black, white and nude--on my upcoming posts.

Thank goodness, Ms. Stephanie of GIFI Clothing sent over closet must-haves that somehow, I am guilty of not having--white tops. And they aren't just ordinary white tops, they have surprise rips here and there! I am so excited to style and show you the others. :D Clearly, I am not a T-shirt person but this is what a new year is all about, right? New finds and new adventures!

Aside from re-vamping my style, I also have updating my blog header and layout on the list. Notice the larger photos! Spent the whole afternoon "designing" a new header but I believe it's just not good enough. :( Someone help me, please? My sidebar widgets are next. But yes, one weekend at a time!

How did your week go?

Much love,
Mela

My Kind of Colorful

Hello! How's everything going?
I got the chance to model for Mizar Clothing's October and November collections. Because I always have my outfit photos taken outdoors, this experience was really a challenge for me. I also haven't met the shop owners, Mimi and Zarah, in person yet as pre-shoot transactions were only done online and via SMS. Nevertheless, I decided to just hope for the best and embrace the opportunity.

The October shoot was consist of three collections: Galaxy, Floral, and Spikes and Stripes. While the one for November was Le Chic, which I blogged about here--Le Chic by Mizar Clothing. I know this post is long overdue but yayyy 'cause this is just in time for Mizar Clothing's Everything Must Go SALE! Some items here are still available and are currently at the lowest prices!

Thanks again, Mizar Clothing family, for getting me!
Have you eyed something nice already? Check their page now. :)

Pardon me for the repetitive hair-scrunching poses. I couldn't help it--I just loved the hairstyling so much. If only my hair could look like that everyday! Cheers to Mimi for my makeup, too. She did a really amazing job with my eyes. I honestly don't look that "awake" on ordinary days because my eyes are naturally droopy. Now, I really should include "learning how to do my own eye makeup" on my 2013 bucketlist. :|

I'm down to the last three days before classes resume. Just two more posts after this and I'll see you all again on weekends. :( Sad, but goals first before leisure! By the way, the winners for my WWW x Superb Finds and The Couple Store Giveaway will be announced anytime soon. Have a blessed new year, everyone!

Much love,
Mela
