Not so confident with my curves here but I'm hoping that my weekly yoga sessions and DIY core conditioning workouts would show some good results in time for the fambam beach trip next month. :)
This dress from Persunmall really cost me a lot of courage to wear. I will forever regret not choosing a medium. But since the dress couldn't let itself fit me, might as well figure a way to make myself fit into it.

My two favorite parts of this dress are: the side slit (interestingly compensates the dress' length) and the cat's heterochromic irises (though I think I'd freak out if I'd bump into a real animal with eyes like such). Persunmall will always be special to me being the first ever international shopping website that sent me a sponsorship email. Love you guys!

Felinity

Hype this on Lookbook.hu here and on Chictopia here!
| floral crown: Rackeight | dress: Aupie.com | boots: Asian Vogue | photos by Ralph Delfin

I'm not really comfortable with cats around. So it's tad ironic how I'm wearing more and more faces of creatures from the Family Felidae on my tops and dresses lately. There's something tame and delicate about their eyes (plus the fact that they're not alive and moving) that's getting me more hooked with the trend. Thankfully, Aupie.com was very supportive of my growing addiction and was so kind to send over this cat-face print dress.

This is actually a no brainer ensemble. I've been busy and would often just grab whatever I can from my closet. Hence, the cat-face print dress and leopard booties combo. It was so easy to pull-off but of course, I had to let my girly side out somehow with a floral crown from Rackeight. Isn't it such a standout? I know most girls are still hesitant to wear floral headdresses but it's just a matter of mixing and balancing pieces. Aside from this outfit inspiration, try wearing them with your favorite over-sized tee, denim shorts and gladiator sandals for an effortless look.

Follow @rackeight on Instagram and Facebook for more floral crowns and adorable pieces!
This dress is also available in grey so better visit Aupie.com by clicking their banner below. :)

Office Girl Series: Lunch Break

Hey!
This second installment of my Office Girl Series is inspired by my favorite office-girl-turned-personal-shopper, Rebecca Bloomwood
I am a devotee of C.S.Lewis/Rick Riordan novels but since I started reading the first Shopaholic book, I have never been so hooked. I know, I'm such a girl! I'm close to finishing the fourth (Shopaholic and Sister) and it's the best one so far. I WAS a Becky Bloomwood before I reached financial errr, allowance maturity. Only that, I don't have a Luke Brandon in my life. Waaaah, please send one in.
I NEED A LUKE BRANDON IN MY LIFE!

Anyway, here's a depiction of what Becky would wear on a typical lunch break back when she was a financial journalist at Successful Saving. I just wanted to buy a sandwich but I saw this purse on sale. A free bottle of perfume, lipgloss, and bubble bath all come with a 300quid-purchase, so I bought three purses in different colors. What a steal! Oh, and that heart-shaped waffle maker was so cute. I just had to get one for Mom!

Wonka Nerd

I'm always on a rush and when it comes to last-minute styling, my mantra will always be "When in doubt, colorblock." With the color-loving person that I am, color-blocking is something that I have already mastered. Just a tip: On occasions when you don't really need to be dressy, why not sport a top and skirt in the same color family and leave the print-on-print trend on your bag and shoes? That would be like hitting two birds with one stone!

I love how this ensemble made me look a little grown-up without compromising my fun, youthful side. I feel like I taste so sweet and sour a la Strawberry and Grape-Flavored Wonka Nerds. Childhood nostalgia but yum! This is definitely something that I'd wear when I go on hospital rounds 5-7 years from now.

And I am finally on Lookbook.nu! I've been receiving a lot of queries about why I don't have one. With the kind of schedule that I have, a blog and three or more social networking site accounts is just too much to handle. Chictopia has been the home of my outfit photos for over two years now and starting all over again with Lookbook.nu is a step out of my comfort zone. This is just my second LB post and I will be archiving my previous looks there. I hope to meet more amazing fashion inspirations and get some support too. Cross your fingers with me, please? I'd love to check your LBs out, send your links over!

Also, thanks to everyone who stayed up late and took time to vote for me 247295627461846x just so I'd be StyleBible.PH's My Style Star for November. You're efforts were all worth it because I WON! Yiheee! *happy dance* Really, I am just a microbe in the blogging world but I wouldn't be who I am or where I am now without your support. So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU SO MUCH! May you all be blessed a hundred more times the votes you shared.
Happy weekend, everyone!

Much love,
Mela

Style Watch: Women's Shoes

Autumn is finallyhere and with it comes cooler temperatures, warmer clothes and sensible shoes. So pack away those flip-flops: it’s time to purchase comfortable, enclosed andsturdy shoes for the chilly season. Yet, this doesn’t need to mean the end of fashionable footwear.

This season, thehigh street and designer stores are packed full of stylish, chic and elegantstyles. For anyone preparing to buy some new shoes, here is the low down onautumn’s best footwear trends.

1.      Ankle boots
In a lot ofways the ankle boot is pretty much the ideal shoe. After all, how many footweartrends are comfortable to wear, stylish and well suited to just about anyoutfit? The ankle boot ticks a lot of the boxes and manages to straddle thatelusive line between stylish and practical – a hurdle which many winterfootwear trends fail to navigate.

As always withnew trends, the real test is to see just which celebrities have picked it upand whether the fashion will sink or swim. With A-List names like Gwyneth PaltrowBlake Lively and Jennifer Lopez all jumping on board with the ankle boot, it looks like it’sa sure fire success. Ankle boots are great paired with both skinny jeans ortights and a skirt.

2.      Wellies
Now thiscertainly isn’t a shoe for every occasion but it’s fair to say that the humblepair of wellies certainly has its time and place. British autumn isn’t exactlyknown for its cheerful weather and chances are there will be the odd puddleover the next few months. Having a stylish pair of wellies can therefore meanthe difference between soggy feet and comfort, making them the perfect commuterfootwear item.

They are also,of course, the must-have festival fashion item and will add a bit of style to anyautumn walk in the countryside. Wellies don’t need to be the chunky boot ofold, with TedBaker Shoes from Very.co.uk bringing out the best in the style with theirequestrian inspired Mareda Wellies.

3.      Court shoes
If you’re ahigh heel kind of gal, chances are you’re not going to let a bit of grimweather get between you and your shoe of choice. Yet it doesn’t hurt to lookfor a more practical version than the precarious skyscraper stiletto.

Court shoes aremore enclosed than a peep toe, meaning warmer toes for chilly conditions. Theyare also much more stable around the ankle, meaning easier walking on slipperyand wet surfaces.

Do not compromise your style this season. Stand up and standout with fashionably comfortable autumn footwear from Very.co.uk

Mela

Barney Visits the Safari

So we went to Pontevedra earlier today to have lunch at Tita Rhoda's. (Thank you Bulans for making my tummy happier, I couldn't think of anything more to crave!)

It's a few more weeks before my sophomore year begins. How exciting is that?
Being the homebuddy that I am, I've thought of wearing my heart out whenever I'm not home. I'm taking
everyday as an opportunity to dress up. Yayyy! My flat shoes are all worn out, I need to take the other lovelies out for a bit.

I've waited for months for these shoes to arrive but I've worn them only once since then. :/ I honestly found it hard to figure how to maintain the summer vibe with these high-cut booties. But when I saw this purple blazer, I instantly thought of the blazer+shorts trend which is also making its way up the charts this summer.
I chose a mustard cowneck top to add in some texture and white shorts (not black, or blue, or neon, or printed, or denim) to keep my bottom laidback but still with a touch of summer. I matched everything with silver to black and bronze accessories to complete the look. :)

What do you think of my outfit?
Have you spotted Barney, Tigger, and the  leopard so far? HAHA. I couldn't think of a decent title so yahhh.

Against the Light.

Stole a few minutes before Dad took us to the airport last Friday.
I have long planned what to wear on my four-day stay in the big city but when Dad saw my shoes, he instantly shoved me to wear flats instead. :/
As always, I didn't regret following his advice.
Thank God for the virtue of obedience!

This was supposedly the debut of my Asian Vogue wedges and leather pants, but since we were on a rush, I looked a bit unkempt plus the inappropriate lighting.
I'll give justice to these pieces ASAP, swear!

All the accessories above cost less than a hundred each!
Message me for queries. :)

I bet this year's Holy Week would be a very unique one since Lola's spending it in the U.S. and family gatherings will never the the same without her. :/
Nevertheless, we'll really try to make it as meaningful as the previous years.

I'll mark off each day with a cross and laugh about all that we've lost...

How do you guys plan to spend the Holy Week?

Much <3,
Mela
