Photography At Its Finest

Who doesn't love dazzling over photographs?
We hold on to every piece of Kodak paper and keep them in our wallets, exhaust energy on constructing colorful scrapbooks, fill our walls with picture frames, follow blogs, collect magazines, buy expensive DSLRs, enroll in photography classes, endure starvation just to get that plateful of food photographed, etc.

Every photo is a memoir in still life preserved. Every photo is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime occurrence that can never be perfectly re-done. That's why we can never tire ourselves from them. Anyone with hands and fingers can click a camera but only few are gifted with deftness to make others see how magnificently they perceive the world through photographs.

It's still Medicine Week and along with it is a Photo Contest called Medscenes
Remember what I wrote about passion on my previous post? The photos below are an epitome of how people who stay up all night studying for exams and SGDs still happily subsist with interests totally unrelated to academics. The magnificence of each photo is a living testimony that passion outside medschool can still yield uncompromising results. :)

You've all been very supportive to my "blogger" self. Thank you very much! Now, I hope that you'd also support my "other" self-- the self that I live out on non-weekends, five days a week-- my "medical student" self. My batch, Juventus Aestimat Excellere (JAX), also has entries for the above contest, and I humbly ask for your support on liking the photos below in Facebook. :)

Links are provided below each photo so you just have to simply click them and like entries no. 3-15.
Voting is open to all of you, Philippine and International readers! Please help us win this! :D
 #3 The Sower

Awesome mix of simplicity and grandeur, ay?
What I love most about these photos is that they aren't just literal interpretations of people, places, and things. They are arsty, unpredictable, well-conceptualized, and they tell a unique story to each spectator.
I'd be very thrilled if you'd spread the love with your friends too! Again, Photos No. 3-15!

Which one's your favorite? Let me know!

And thanks in advance for supporting my batch! :D

Much love,
Mela

EDIT: Sadly, this contest is done already. Thanks for all your support! All the photos above are owned and copyrighted by the photographers so please credit accordingly. :)

JAX 2015: Campus Trendsetters Part I (A Superduper Late Post)

Hi guys!
Finally it's Christmas break! Every break/weekend is such a blessing! Every chance to rest and have fun is something to be really thankful for (especially in this zombie-state I live in now haha).
I am student once again *audible sigh*... It's been a while, I know. Sorry about that. I don't have much to share too since I'm always in school and I still have extra curricular activities that ironically stress me out and distract me from stress at the same time.

But well, thinking about it, it's not so bad. Despite my constant complaints about my academic life, I'm really really thankful that my schedule this semester is a bit easier to handle compared to the previous one. I've been receiving my fair share of blessings, too --- from good friends, to passing grades, to new inspirations, ehem, ehem.

Anyway, this is actually a very late post. Four months ago, I promised that I'd post more on my classmates Erik and Ella's mini-project (click here to view post). They had a lot more prospects but it wasn't easy to joggle shoots and photo processing in between classes, I believe. Nevertheless, I'm proud to say that I have very talented and good-looking classmates. I wish that I could be friends with everyone before the school year ends. :P

Spot the Difference.
Lili and Lala.

I'm sucha loser. I still couldn't identify which is which until now.
Help? :(

Two of the few people in the classroom very close to my heart.
Gwyn and Vally.
Go, Group Seven!

And and please excuse the following photos.
I feel so uglyyyyy.

Those days I felt like everyday's a bad hair day.
I feel sorry for Ella and Erik. They must have had a tough time doing adjustments with my face which was then filled with acne and rashes. But sincerely, thank you guys!
And most of all, thank You, Lord for granting me healing. I am slowly gaining back my smooth skin. :)

Okay, so I missed dressing up.
And stress has taken a huge toll on my appearance, errrr weight.
Sooo say hello to my chubby arms!

 Must get nails done ASAP!

Christmas is indeed just around the corner.
Cheers to the holidays ahead of us!

Much <3,
Mela
